Used condition, please see photos for marks/some light damage to cardboard box. Comes with in box. 1x Pinnacle Studio MovieBox – 710 USB 2.0 Capture Unit. 1x USB 2 cable to connect the box to a pc/laptop. 1x Male Composite RGB to Male Composite RGB cable. 1x Firewire Cable 4 Pin to 6 Pin Cable. 1x Pinnacle Studio HD 14 DVD Software with Serial Key. 1x Green Screen Backdrop. Inputs to the USB MovieBox are. 1x DV (Firewire) IN. 1x RCA audio inputs red/white IN. No additional cables are included. This can be used to capture VHS/Video8/Hi8/Digital8 family tape recordings from a camcorder/VCR player to a PC (not included in sale) with great results. It does require a little bit of patience and research to get it all set up but it is worth it compared to the new cheap capture USB sticks, which don’t perform well. I will throw in some further tips and tricks on how to use it and how you can get better results using other software such as Virtual Dub / Win DV which can be downloaded for free to capture analogue or 1:1 DV tapes (as a starting point only). Regarding which version of Windows this works with, is a very hard question and I can’t guarantee anything because every PC is different, and each windows version has many build versions after updates etc, so the amount of combinations is huge. The box states “Windows 7, Vista SP2, XP SP3 or higher” as per photos – please remember this is 10-12 years old. That being said, I have personally used this on Windows Vista and an earlier build of Windows 10 but found it doesn’t work on all of the latest versions of Windows 10, so please bear this in mind before purchasing as you may need access to another PC / older operating system version if yours doesn’t work with it (its around 10 years old after all). I also recommend connecting this to an older USB 2 port rather than a newer USB 3 port (black port rather than blue port regardless of the USB3 ports being backward compatible). If you are going to use this to capture old tapes (VHS/Hi8/Video8 etc) then I do also recommend that the playback device you use has a built in time base corrector (TBC) as you will most likely get better results, especially with VHS tapes.
